BR-look: drag racing style...
Posted by Fabio Caris | Posted in
Here is a quick explanation of the BR-look Drag Racing style.
These Volkswagens are modifyed mainly for quarter mile action and there are a few obvious components that qualifies a car to have this look/style:
-larger/wider rear guards to accomodate wider wheels and tyres for better traction or simply wider wheels/tyres inside the stock guards.
-light weight and wide rear wheels using either wide radial tyres or slicks and skinny wheels/tyres on the front.
-large capacity air-cooled engines with or without turbo. Water-cooled AP series VW engines are also a common swap.
-Parachute on the rear is used on faster cars so they can stop after the finish line.
-large 5-inch/127mm tachometer mounted up high on dash.
-engine lid is almost always enlarged and/or open.
